Southwestern Finance Association

The Southwestern Finance Association organized in 1961 with the goal of advancing the academic and professional finance profession. Current membership includes individuals not only from the southwestern U.S., but from all regions, and also from many foreign countries.

SWFA Objectives

The SWFA encourages the development and dissemination of new ideas and research in finance and supports the advancement of pedagogical and instructional methods in financial education.

The SWFA uses two principal vehicles to achieve its objectives: (1) the annual conference and (2) the Journal of Financial Research.

Journal of Financial Research

The SWFA is joint sponsor along with the Southern Finance Association of the Journal of Financial Research. Published quarterly, the journal contains articles of current relevant quality research in finance.
