SOUTHWESTERN FINANCE ASSOCIATION
54th ANNUAL MEETING

Submission Deadline: September 15, 2014; Submission opens: July 10, 2014

The meeting is held in conjunction with the Federation of Business Disciplines.  Research papers covering all aspects of finance and financial education are invited for inclusion on the program.  We also invite proposals for panel discussions and tutorials.  Academicians, practitioners, and others with an interest in finance are invited to attend and participate in the meeting.

Active Southwestern Finance Association (SWFA) membership and a separate submission fee are required for any paper, proposal or workshop submissions. A SWFA membership allows members a personal one-year subscription to the Journal of Financial Research (JFR), a highly respected Finance Journal, with access to all available previous issues. In addition, a SWFA member gets $50 discount for JFR paper submission ($200 for non-members and $150 for members). The link to the association membership is

Research papers should be in MS WORD format. Completed papers are encouraged and will receive precedence over proposals. Research proposals must include a clear description of the primary issues, a review of the literature, and description of the data and methodology. Research proposals should not exceed 6 pages in length. Panel, tutorial, or workshop proposals may be submitted to the Program Chair.

AWARDS: Continuing with SWFA's tradition of recognizing research excellence, monetary prizes will be awarded for outstanding papers. SWFA will provide awards for outstanding doctoral student papers.

DOCTORAL STUDENTS: Over 80 Ph.D. students from 20 countries presented their papers at the conference, attended special sessions designed for doctoral students, and networked with colleagues from all over the world. There will be a number of stipends for Ph.D. students attending and presenting papers at the conference.

GENERAL REGISTRATIONS: By paying the FBD registration fee and registering for at least one other organization, you may attend all of the functions of any group, except for meal functions or business meetings. However, if you have presentations for more than one association, you should register for each association in which you present or wish to participate. The FBD website is: www.fbdonline.org
