CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION
SOUTHWESTERN FINANCE ASSOCIATION
51st ANNUAL MEETING
SHERATON NEW ORLEANS
February 29 to March 3, 2012

The 51st annual meeting of the Southwestern Finance Association will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans, February 29 through March 3, 2012. The meeting is in conjunction with the Federation of Business Disciplines. Research papers covering all aspects of finance and financial education are invited for inclusion on the program. We also invite proposals for panel discussions and tutorials. Academicians, practitioners, and others with an interest in finance are invited to attend and participate in the meeting. Submission deadline is September 19, 2011

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE AND CONDITIONS: Submit all papers through the Southwestern Finance Association's web: http://www.southwesternfinance.org

OTHER PARTICIPATION: The Program Chair encourages panel, tutorial, or workshop sessions. Please complete the online participation form and submit a proposal by email to chair@southwesternfinance.org. Include in the subject line "2012 SWFA Special Session." Individuals desiring to participate as a session chair or paper discussant should complete the online participation form and indicate their preferences.

AWARDS: Continuing the SWFA's tradition of recognizing research excellence, up to five monetary awards of $500 to $1000 each will be given for outstanding papers to help cover travel expenses to the meeting. Awards are sponsored by the American Association of Individual Investors, McGraw-Hill/Irwin, Wohl Publishing, with additional awards funded by the SWFA. Only completed papers are eligible for award consideration. The SWFA will also provide up to five $500 awards for outstanding doctoral student papers.

DOCTORAL STUDENTS: The SWFA encourages doctoral students to submit papers and participate in the program. During the last two meetings, over 60 Ph.D. students from more than 20 countries presented their papers, attended special sessions designed for doctoral students, and networked with colleagues from all over the world. To help cover conference costs for all doctoral student participants, the SWFA offers a $300 stipend to be paid at the meeting for all doctoral students who fulfill all of the following requirements:
